It is important to fully understand what exactly you are getting into before committing. Getting the best results starts long before you ever step foot in my studio. Proper preparation plays an important role in how your final results turn out. This will give you everything you need to feel prepared and confident heading into your appointment!

what is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup (PMU) is a specialized form of cosmetic tattooing designed to enhance your natural features with soft, natural looking results. PMU is designed to simplify your daily routine while maintaining a polished, effortless look day to day. It is only meant to enhance your natural features, not completely replace your makeup. The gradual fading allows your PMU to be refreshed and adjusted as your features and personal style evolve. Following the recommended aftercare and protecting the treated area from excessive sun exposure can help prolong the life of your results.

Permanent makeup is an investment in both convenience and confidence, offering long-lasting enhancements that help you wake up feeling effortlessly put together every day. Overall, it is ideal for those looking to save time on their beauty routine, or for individuals with allergies to traditional makeup or medical conditions.

HOW LONG DOES IT LAST?

The longevity of permanent makeup can vary for several factors, including the technique used, skin type, age, products used, sun exposure, life style, aftercare, and your body's natural cell turnover. While it does fade over time, it is still a tattoo and considered permanent. Periodic touch ups and color boosts are recommended. While results vary from person to person, most clients typically don't end up needing a touch up for approximately 1-3 years, to maintain the brows shape and vibrancy.

AM I A CANDIDATE?

Unfortunately, not everyone is a candidate for cosmetic tattooing. The following list disqualifies you from being a candidate. With questions regarding your specific situation, please text me at 928-713-5271.

MUST BE 18 YEARS OLD

All injections must be done at least 2 weeks before or after your appointment. It takes 14 days for neurotoxins to fully set in so because of that I am unable to work on your brows within that time frame. Getting injectables within two weeks of your appointment will result in you being sent home.

Receiving Botox / Dysport within 14 days of your appointment:

There is not enough research done while being pregnant or breastfeeding, so cosmetic tattooing cannot be preformed on anyone that is pregnant or breastfeeding.

Pregnant or Breastfeeding:

Clients must be off Accutane for minimum of 12 months before receiving cosmetic tattooing due to its significant effects on skin health. Accutane drastically alters skin cell turnover and thins the skin, which can compromise the healing process after PMU procedures.

Accutane:

Skin conditions like psoriasis, eczema, acne, sunburns, and more may disqualify you from being a candidate.

Skin Conditions:

Clients taking certain medications can affect eligibility for permanent makeup procedures.

Medications:

DOES IT HURT?

Most clients feel little to no pain throughout their procedures. Pain tolerance varies between clients and whether you are on your period, you may be more sensitive. Topical numbing cream is applied to brow and lip services before and during to ensure you are as comfortable as possible. Soo many of my clients actually end up falling asleep!

Will you work over someone else's work?

ALL previous work MUST be approved by me BEFORE booking an appointment.

If you've had previous work done by another artist or think you're ready for a touch up, please text me current photos of your clean brows or lips to 928-713-5271 for approval.

Typically your previous work MUST be at least 80% faded before I will work over it. If I am unable to work over your brows or lips, I will give you recommendations on how to help with with fading or removal options so that I am able to give you my very best. I don't believe in temporary fixes, I truly care about the longevity of your permanent makeup.

How do i prepare for my eyebrow appointment?

BROW PRECARE INSTRUCTIONS:

TWO WEEKS before your appointment:
- No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser treatments, or micro needling
- No tanning / sun exposure
- No glycolic acid, AHA's, retinols or Retin-A in the brow/forehead area
- No tinting / dyeing eyebrows
- No Botox
- Must be off Accutane for a minimum of 6 months prior to appointment

ONE WEEK before your appointment:
- Do not tweeze / wax your brows
- No fish oil / Vitamin E (natural blood thinners)

48 HOURS before your appointment:
- NO Alcohol (thins blood which can lead to bruising and excessive bleeding)
- NO Aspirin / Ibuprofen (unless you take a daily dose prescribed by a doctor)
- If you have acne in the brow area, PLEASE RESCHEDULE!

DAY OF your appointment:
- Avoid exercise. Exercising can increase blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leading to poor results.
- Minimal caffeine as long as it doesn't make your jittery or anxious (morning cup of coffee is okay, excessive caffeine can cause increased bleeding).
- You are more than welcome to come to your appointment with or without makeup. We will be taking lots of photos so come however you are most comfortable. If you regularly fill in your brows, bring in your favorite pencil and come in with them filled so I can see shape and color you like to use.
- Lastly, RELAX! Feeling nervous is completely normal. We are working together the entire time to create your dream brows! Take a deep breathe and get excited!!

How do i prepare for my lip blush appointment?

LIP PRECARE INSTRUCTIONS:

4 WEEKS before your appointment:
-No lip filler

2 WEEKS before your appointment:
- Begin exfoliating your lips 2-3 times per week with a homemade sugar scrub (white sugar and olive oil / coconut oil)
- Apply a generous amount of Aquaphor after scrubbing and start drink lots of water to keep lips as hydrated and soft as possible.
- No tanning / sun exposure
- No glycolic acid, AHA's retinols or Retin-A in the lower face area.
- No chemical peels, dermabrasion, laser treatments, or micro needling

48 HOURS before your appointment:
- Drink LOTS of extra water, hydrated lips will be more accepting of the ink and will heal better
- NO alcohol (thins the blood which leads to bruising or excessive bleeding)
- NO Aspirin or Ibuprofen for pain relief (these also thin the blood), Tylenol / Acetaminophen is okay as it does not thin the blood.
- Exfoliate your lips with scrub
- If needed, BEGIN taking antivirals

24 HOURS before your appointment:
- Exfoliate your lips with scrun
- Drink LOTS of water (I MEAN CHUG IT GIRL)

DAY OF your appointment:
- GENTLY exfoliate your lips
- No excessive caffeine (try to limit your caffeine on the day of to one cup, as it can cause bleeding, swelling and increased sensitivity).
- Eat BEFORE your appointment
- Avoid exercise. Exercising can increase blood flow and will cause excessive bleeding, leading to poor results.

- If you have a lip gloss, combo, inspiration picture you want to try and re-create, bring it in!

- Lastly, RELAX! Feeling nervous is completely normal. We are working together the entire time to create your dream lips! Take a deep breathe and get excited!!

What to expect immedialy after my appointment?

Immediately following your brow appointment, you may experience minor redness and swelling around the treated area, which typically goes away within 24 hours. They will continue to oxidize over the next few hours and into the the next day resulting in them looking darker or warmer (red) than they were initially. This is completely normal and to be expected. Pigment is expected to fade anywhere from 20%-40% once fully healed.

You will wash and apply ointment to the treated areas morning and night for 10 days. Around day 4-5 you will experience some light flaking and itching. This is completely normal and is to be left alone to flake off on their own. Picking at flakes can result in major patchiness, uneven healed results and even scarring. By day 10, you should be done healing and can go back to normal routine. Pigment will continue to settle into the skin over the next 4 weeks, that is when you see the true healed result.

By 4-6 weeks you will be completely healed. Whatever pigment that did not return will be addressed at the touch up or perfection session appointment. At this appointment we will asses your color retention and touch up any spots we se necessary to give you the perfect brows! Once healed from your touch up appointment, you should be set for the next 1-3 years before needing another color boost!

BROWS:

Right after your lip appointment, your lips will look bolder and more red than the color you chose. As the numbing wears off, they may feel sensitive, like a mild sunburn. Some swelling is totally normal and should go down within 24–48 hours. You’ll also receive an aftercare goodie bag with everything you need, plus an ice pack. Over the next several hours and into the next day, your lips will continue to oxidize, so they may look darker or warmer (more red) than they did at first. This is completely normal and expected. Once fully healed, the color usually softens and fades by about 40%-50%.

You will wash and apply healing gloss to the treated areas morning and night for 5 days. Around day 3 you will experience some light flaking and itching. This is completely normal and is to be left alone to flake off on their own. Picking at flakes can result in major patchiness, uneven healed results and even scarring. By day 5-6, you should be done healing and can go back to normal routine. Pigment will continue to settle into the skin over the next 4 weeks, that is when you see the true healed result.

LIPS:

AFTERCARE

Following the aftercare I give to you at the end of each appointment is CRUCIAL for best healed results. I do my part when you're with me, but once you leave my studio, it is up to you to follow the instructions given. All clients are expected to follow the following instructions exactly to get the best healed results possible! All aftercare products will be provided at the end of the appointment.

1. Gently pat brows with cotton pad for 30 minutes post appointment to get any lymph fluid from drying on the brows.

2. Start 2 hours after finished appointment: wash and ointment with the soap and healing balm provided.

3. Wash and ointment morning and night for 10 days or until flaking is completely done (apply ointment throughout the day to keep brows hydrated). A pea sized amount is enough for both brows, we do not want to over saturate them.

4. Save any aftercare for your 6-8 week touch up appointment.

BROWS:

● No direct sun light / tanning

● No picking or scratching at any flakes

● No sweating - this includes: no heavy working out, hot tubs, pools, saunas, etc

● No long, hot showers, keep the water cool to avoid steam. No soaking, keep a towel nearby to pat dry occasionally and avoid putting your face directly in the shower water stream, that can push your fresh color out.

●No makeup or other skincare products (besides for what I gave to you) on your brows until healed. If you get makeup or other product in your brows, use a q-tip with the provided soap to clean the area.

● Try to sleep on your back to avoid rubbing off fresh brows.

1. Start 2 hours after finished appointment: gently wash and apply a generous layer of healing gloss to your lips.

2. Wash morning and night, apply gloss after washing morning and night as well as throughout the day to keep them hydrated for 5 days. Apply gloss as needed until lips don't feel dry.

3. Ice as needed for swelling for the first 24-48 hours.

4. Save any aftercare for your 8-12 week touch up.

LIPS:

● Avoid eating anything super spicy, salty, citrusy, minty or anything you need to open real wide for. directly following your appointment.

● Use a straw for the next 5 days to avoid getting anything on your lips.

● NO kissing. This includes partners, kids, pets; we do not want to cause an infection to the treated area.

● No direct sun light / tanning

● No picking or scratching at any flakes

● No sweating - this includes: no heavy working out, hot tubs, pools, saunas, etc

● Avoid sleeping directly on your face.

Will I need a touch up appointment?

Most of the time, yes! I like to call the touch up the perfection session. We used the perfection session to make any needed adjustments once your brows or lips have healed after the initial session. I like to start us off lighter and thinner to give you a chance to get used to your new brows or lips. Once healed, some clients decide to go darker or thicker (or both), others we just touch up some areas that faded more than others.

If everything heals well and you love how they look, we do not need to do the touch up session. Less is ALWAYS more when it comes to permanent makeup, so if you don't see anything you're really wanting to change, it is best to leave them be for best long term results.

Touch ups can be done as soon as 6 weeks and for up to 6 months. Anything after 6 months will be considered a color boost / annual refresher appointment.

WHen should i book my annual color boost?

After your initial BROW appointments, most clients are good for 1-3 years before needing a refresher. The longevity of your pmu highly depends on several factors; your skin type, life style, products used, sun exposure, how you take care of them, etc. Excessive sun exposure and some skin care products can shorten the life or change the color of your brows much quicker. Be sure to follow long term aftercare and always apply spf to your brows for optimal long term results.

After your initial LIP appointments, most clients don't need another touch up for at least 2-3 years. Things like your skin type, life style, sun exposure, how you take care of them, etc, will determine how your lips heal long term. Excessive sun exposure and some skin care products can shorten the life or change / fade the color of your lips. Be sure to follow long term aftercare like applying spf for optimal long term results.

Before booking your color boost appointment, it is important to let your brows / lips fade AT LEAST 50%. Letting the previous ink fade allows us to refresh and keep new pigment in the skin. If we were to go over previous work that is not faded enough, the new pigment would heal unnatural, blotchy, and uneven. Let them fade! Will my pmu replace my makeup?

Short answer: no

While permanent makeup is amazing for defining and enhancing a clients natural features, it is not meant to completely replace your makeup, but gives you a shape to follow on days you want to wear a little extra makeup and speed up your morning routine. It is important to have realistic expectations about what it can and cannot do though. Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo that implants ink into the skin, whereas your makeup sits on top of your skin. This means some of the things you can achieve with makeup, you may not be able to with pmu and vice versa. Because the tattoo we are creating is mostly permanent, it is important that we place and shape the brow in an appropriate spot. Going to far outside your natural brow shape will cause them to look unnatural and unable to blend nicely with your brow hairs.

It is also very important to note that the fresh look is going to look different than the healed results because the ink is being implanted into the skin. Permanent makeup is not magic, and its important we stay close to your natural brow shape to maintain beautiful long term results.

Do i need a consultation before receving pmu?

This depends on a few factors: whether you have previous work (if you do, you MUST send me clear photos of your brows or lips to 928-713-5271 or book an in-person consult before booking your appointment so I can see what we're working with and if I am able to go over what is there), if you are unsure of which technique to get, or if you would just like to meet me in person before booking an appointment. Consultations are 30 minutes and free of charge. Bring any and all questions!

How long does it last?

Initial brow appointments take anywhere between 2-4 hours depending on technique.

Initial lip blush appointments take 3 hours

Brow touch ups take 1-2 hours

Lip blush touch ups 1-2 hours

how do i book an appointment?

All appointments must be scheduled online through my booking site.

I require a cc on file in order to book appointment. There is no charge to the card, 100% of the payment is due upon completion of service. This is only a safety feature for my business incase of no shows, last minute cancelations / reschedules. I am a VERY understanding person, but this is my only source of income for me and my family so please respect my time.

WHATS YOUR CANCELATION POLICY?

There is a strict 48 hour cancellation / no show policy in place. I understand that life happens, and I am truly empathetic to last minute changes, but this is my sole source of income so I rely on you showing up to your appointment. If I am not given enough notice to fill the spot, that leaves a hole in my schedule that another client could have filled. As long as I am given at least 48 hours notice, no charges will apply. If it is less than 48 hours notice, a flat $50 fee will be charged to the card on file (due before you may reschedule). This fee is nonrefundable and nontransferable. I do not charge a deposit or booking fee, so this is a way to ensure that in the event of a last-minute cancellation, I am still compensated for the time on my schedule. No call / no shows are very rare, but they do happen, in this case you will be charged 100% of the service fee. If this happens in the case of a consultation or threading you will be charged a flat $25 fee. Thank you for understanding and respecting my time!

A 15 minute grace period is given. if you are running late to your appointment, please let me know. I am a very accommodating and understanding person, but after 15 minutes past your appointment, you will have to be rescheduled. If it is 20 minutes past your appointment time and I have not been notified of late arrival, you will be considered a no call / no show. On the other hand, PLEASE DO NOT SHOW UP TOO EARLY! 5 minutes is okay, I'm talking 10 minutes or more. I schedule clients back to back all day, so in the event that I finish a few minutes early, I need time to decompress (use the restroom, eat a snack, etc.) Please wait in your car until your scheduled appointment time, thank you!

WHat form of payment is accepted?

A cc on file is required when booking any appointment. That card is not charged, it is to hold your appointment slot and only to be used in the case of a no show or last minute cancelation / reschedule.

Tipping is Enhanced Beauty by Reagan is completely optional. It is always appreciated, but never expected!
